Hi Pierre. We are enjoying a great game of your Cambrai scenario. We have a question about tanks breaking down. If a tank moves into a square and then breaks down at the end of the move, can it take part in an attack on an adjacent square in the assault phase? Or does it take the break down test before it moves?

Kind regards

Simon

Hello Simon,

we always played the tanks as testing for breakdowns after the move is done, so in your case the tank can take part in an attack on an adjacent square in the assault phase.

PS : I'm sorry but I had such a huge amount of work at the office those days that I didn't get much time nor energy to work on your "Braves Bataillons" translation ; I hope that I'll make it next week-end..

Best regards,
Pierre

Thank you Pierre. No problem about the Braves battaillons comments - unfortunately work must come first! I am also working on English translations for Hooray Popieda, La Der des Ders and your extra rules for Pz* WW1 Divisional when you are ready!

Kind regards

Simon

Also Pierre, do you have any tips for designing Pz8 scenarios - ground scale, deciding on how many artillery points etc?

Cheers

Simon

Not at all I fear, the importance of randomness is such that it is almost impossible to build up balanced scenarios.
I tried to write a budget system that you can find in the last pages of the rules, but it is rather unsatisfactory ; we must keep in mind that this ruleset is only intended for fun (if we can speak of "fun" about WW1...). I think It was the will of the original Pz8 designer, an Italian gamer with whom I was in touch before he decided to cease wargames activities.
